Greater Gardner Artists' Association History
-
Inspired by an idea to unite local artists into a support group and share their talent with the community was the vision of founder, Carolyn Kamuda. On September 15, 1988 the Greater Gardner Artists' Association became an official non-profit organization.
-
The association grew quickly in membership and it was decided to hold an annual Spring Art Show to showcase the member's work in 1989. The response was enthusiastic from the viewing public and more artists became involved.
-
Monthly meetings were held and demonstrating artists were invited to share their expertise with members. Over the years the GGAA has had over 150 artists demonstrations in oil painting, watercolors, photography, papermaking, portraiture, metalwork, wood carving and much more. We continue this tradition of inspiration with a yearly program of demonstrators who are chosen for their expertise and enthusiasm.
-
Today the GGAA is and art organization with a strong foundation of dedicated members. We offer local artists the opportunity to support each other, show their work, and gain the knowledge they need to further their art journey.
GGAA Mission Statement
